The Greater Moncton Asian Heritage Society have been celebrating and creating events for Asian Heritage Month since 2009, and it continued this year with more great events. On Saturday May 5th, the Flag Raising Ceremony was held at City Hall Square to properly begin the month’s activities. Asian Music Night on Friday May 18th at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Center was an incredible showcase of different cultural art, including Canadian piano prince Roger Lord, and famous Chinese instrumental Pipa professor Qiong Wu. Moncton’s Cultural Gala, the final event of Asian Heritage Month, happened Sunday May 27th at the Capitol Theater, and featured the Greater Moncton Chinese Cultural Association, Filipino Association of NB, Korean Association of Moncton, Indo-Canadian Association of Moncton, Vietnamese Association of Moncton and MAG- MA.
